KABOOM
Posted February 16th, 2010 by dadtotheboneWell, I have found my savior for bathtub scum and it's not spelled M-A-I-D (although that would be nice too). I have tried all sorts of abrasives solutions like Comet, Soft Scrub, Borax and bleach (and just in case your wondering, I really don't mix chemicals…I think). I also tried all sorts of sponges, brushes and wash cloths. Once I was even so desperate, I purchased a hand-held motorized Black and Decker Scumbuster bathtub brush, but nothing made the job any more fun, easier or quicker.
Then one day in the cleaning aisle I was loading up my cart with cleaning products, I saw this bottle branded Oxi KABOOM. I thought to myself, "Now that's the ticket -- blow up my bathtub...*Ka-Boom*...no more cleaning!" But reality quickly followed when I realized it would probably be frowned upon if I start bathing the kids in the toilet. Now I've barely pay attention to those Oxi infomercials which I file with all infomercials as gimmicks and then move on with my life; however, for some reason I bought the bottle of KABOOM anyway. "What could it hurt?" I thought. "I've tried just about everything else."
I won't lie. I do get a little excited with anticipation and optimism when giving new cleaning products a try. I followed the instructions by spraying down the tub and let it sit for a few minutes. It didn't smell like all the other cleaners I use. You know the ones that stink up the whole house making, everything smell disinfected or lemony fresh even if it doesn't really do anything but smell clean.
Since KABOOM didn't have a potent chemical smell, I prepared my arms for the workout I was about to do. I can't express how amazed I was within the first few seconds of putting the sponge to the tub. I had a sparkling white bathtub in minutes without breaking a sweat. I had such a feeling of accomplishment finishing the bathroom in half the time it normally takes me.
Don't get me wrong. KABOOM does not make cleaning a bathroom any more fun than it ever has been and I still procrastinate getting to the bathroom; however, I don't procrastinate it as long as I use to knowing that I'm not going to break my back getting it done. I already know my children are going to appreciate this product when they're old enough to help take on the responsibility of cleaning the bathroom for me… I mean also.
Way to go Oxi!
